Jianna(Jihyun) Back is a Korean traditional dancer, drummer and choreographer based in Toronto, Canada.

Jianna(Jihyun) Back’s journey into Korean traditional dance began with her acceptance into the renowned Korean children’s art ensemble, the ‘Little Angels Dance Company’ in 2002.

Following her tenure with the company, she pursued her education at the Korean Seonhwa School of Arts, renowned for its excellence in the arts. Graduating with top honors, she continued her academic pursuit at the Korean Seonhwa High School of Arts. Subsequently, she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Dance from Sangmyung University, where she graduated with distinction.

For the next five years, she showcased her talent as a professional dancer with the Uijeongbu Municipal Dance Company, enriching her experience and skillset in the field.

Born in Korea and now based in Toronto, Canada, Jianna(Jihyun)’s aspirations extended beyond national borders, and in 2020, driven by a lifelong dream to share the beauty and dynamism of Korean dance and culture, she embarked on a new dance odyssey in Canada.

Fueled by the belief that “a nation thrives when its culture flourishes,” she continues to engage in educational initiatives and diverse activities. She is also steadfast in her dedication to promoting the richness and significance of Korean traditional arts on both national and global platforms as an independent artist, engaging in various performances, choreographies, workshops, and educational endeavors in Toronto, Canada.
